We invite you to join us in fun-filled activities that will bring you closer and connect you more intimately with our natural environment here at Four Seasons Hualālai Resort.

Private Eagle Ray Feeding
Don’t shy away from this amazing experience! Kai Nalu is King’s Pond Resident spotted eagle ray (Aetobatus narinari). He has displayed his own personalities through behavioral patterns and eating habits. Some of his favorite foods include shrimp and mussels.
Monday – Friday at 1:00 p.m. All ages welcome. There are only 15 spots available. Must sign-up at Kings Pond prior to feeding. Sign-Ups only available for day-of feeding. Pond opens at 10am. 

A family or group of five can have their own private encounter with our friendly ray. Be ready to get wet while hand feeding our spotted eagle ray.

Fish Feeding
The King’s Pond has over 1,000 fish and more than 90 different species. Now you can help us feed them and see how many you can identify! This is an amazing way to see the variety of reef fish featured in Hawaiian waters.
Monday, Wednesday & Friday at 1:45 p.m. All ages welcome (children under age 7 must be accompanied by an adult.) Meet at King’s Pond. Complimentary.

Tide Pool Tour
A staff marine life specialist will teach you the techniques of tide pooling and show you what marine creatures to look for. Tide pools are home to a variety of species: shelled creatures like opihi and cowry cling tightly to the rocks, brittle sea stars and hermit crabs scuttle away to hide, juvenile fish are safe from larger fish, and sea cucumbers and octopi are masters at camouflage.
Call Oceanfront Concierge for available times/dates. All ages welcome (children under age 7 must be accompanied by an adult.) Maximum 5 participants. Meet at King’s Pond. Tours are weather dependent. Water shoes are required.

Look Tank Talk
Meet some of our fascinating reef life up close and personal.
Daily 10:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. All ages welcome (children under age 7 must be accompanied by an adult.) Meet at King’s Pond. Complimentary.

Turtles and Tales
Join a resort marine life specialist on the beach to visit our resident “honu” green sea turtles. Learn about the life, strength and challenges of these amazing Hawaiian creatures. It’s a “honu” experience!
Wednesday & Friday 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. All ages welcome (children under age 7 must be accompanied by an adult.) Maximum 4 participants.

Behind the Scenes Pond Tour
Take a closer look into how we operate our saltwater systems,and maintain the health of our fish on a guided tour with a marine life specialist. This tour also includes Fish and Ray Feeding.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. All ages welcome (children under age 7 must be accompanied by a participating adult.) Maximum 5 participants. Meet at King’s Pond.

Hualālai Fishing Derby
Have some fishing fun while helping to restore the ecology of an ancient Hawaiian Pond. Children and adults alike will enjoy hooking these sneaky fish out of Waiakauhi Fish Pond with our Marine Life Specialist.
Tuesdays & Thursdays 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Sign up or call the Oceanfront Concierge for scheduling. Ages 5 and up (children under age 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.) Maximum 5 poles, meet at the lobby.

Ocean Life Exploration
Youth will enjoy getting up close and personal with Hualālai Resort’s fascinating marine life and unusual habitats. Participants will explore our ocean world with professional Marine Life Specialist and get creative with unique projects that can be taken home. A truly fun and educational experience.
Thursdays, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Ages 7-12 (children under age 7 must be accompanied by an adult.) Maximum 5 participants. Meet at King’s Pond.

Jr. Marine Biologist
Dreaming of becoming a marine biologist? Make those dreams come true by spending part of your day with a Hualālai Resort marine life specialist. Participants will learn how to collect and record data about Hawai‘i’s unique underwater world. Great for kids that love science and investigating ocean life.
Fridays, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Ages 12 and up. Maximum 4 participants. Meet at King’s Pond.

(Private) Eco-Tour with a Resort Marine Life Specialist
A resort marine life specialist will teach you the habitats available on the resort and give you a guided tour of the King’s Pond, Ho`onanea and Waiakauhi Pond.
Sign up or call the Oceanfront Concierge for scheduling. All ages(children under age 7 must be accompanied by an adult.) Maximum 5 participants. Must be a proficient swimmer. Water clothes required.

(Private) Rent A Marine Biologist
Does your family have a passion for marine science? Take a resort marine biologist with you for any ocean activity at an hourly rate. Learn about Hawai`i’s marine life and ecosystem’s while we accompany your family on a canoe ride, paddle board or private charter. Our marine biologist staff are highly educated and trained to bring you and your family a memorable ocean experience. All ages (children under age 7 must be accompanied by an adult.) Maximum 5 participants
