Golf at Hualālai

Two incomparable golf courses elevate Hualālai to the status of one of the elite golf resorts in world. The Hualālai Golf Course is the first Jack Nicklaus design on Hawai‘i Island and is home to the prestigious PGA Tour Champions “Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualālai” event. On January 19-21, 2023 Steve Stricker took the title from Miguel Angel Jimenez along with 41 other Champions golf professionals to include Jim Furyk, Darren Clarke and David Duval. This Hualālai course, is available for play to Hualālai Club Members, their registered guests, registered rental guests and the guests of the Four Seasons Resort Hualālai. In the dramatic lava fields of Ka‘ūpūlehu, the Ke‘olu Course is open for Hualālai Club Premier Members and their guests.

Hualālai’s Jack Nicklaus Course, one of two incomparable golf experiences at the resort, is Nicklaus’ first Hawai‘i design. The par-72 layout weaves through the Big Island’s challenging lavascape, taking full advantage of spectacular ocean views and dramatic shoreline vistas. To make your experience unforgettable the latest in GPS technology has been added or if you prefer to “Play with a Pro” is available. The Hualālai Golf Club has been host to the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualālai since 1997 which features tournament champions for the past two seasons and senior major championship winners from the past five years.

The nine-acre driving range includes a chipping and short game practice area, practice bunker and a putting green.

The Club Shop offers quality golf shoes, clubs and accessories to enhance your performance, as well as golf apparel that will bring style and comfort to your game. To remember your time at Hualālai’s course, we also offer Hualālai logo gifts to share with friends and family back home.

The Residents’ Beach House is nestled just beyond the Waiakauhi Pond and 18th tee box of the Hualālai Golf Course. With casual lānai dining and menu of simply prepared fresh fish, sandwiches, salads, pizzas and daily specials. This is a great venue to whale watch, take in an amazing sunset, or relax and sip on our famous Big Daddy Mai Tai. Resort guests are welcome to join the residents of Hualālai at lunch and pupus till 5:30 p.m.

Tee time reservations and lessons may be booked up to one (1) week in advance by calling the Club Shop at (808) 325-8480 (in-house, dial 45).

Golf Club Guidelines

Hualālai Golf Club Access Policy

Hualālai Golf Club is a private resort golf club. Golf course is limited to Hualālai Club Members, their registered guests, registered rental guests and the guests of the Four Seasons Resort Hualālai.

Dress Code

Proper golf attire must be worn by golfers and guests on the course and practice areas, as well as in the clubhouse. Men, please wear slacks or proper length shorts, and shirts with sleeves. Tank tops, sweat pants, blue jeans, cut-offs and bathing suits are not appropriate attire.

Women, please wear dresses, skirts, slacks or golf shorts, and blouses or golf shirts. Halter tops and swim wear are not appropriate attire.

Gratuities

Gratuities in appreciation for excellent service are welcome and are at your discretion. The general recommended amount is 20% of your final invoice.
