The coastline here at Hualalai Resort contains a typical basalt (lava) tidepool system. These intertidal pools provide an amazing plethora of marine organisms to look at. The tidepools attract marine invertebrates and juvenile reef fish, with many of these organisms being endemic marine species. Endemic is defined as an organisms found only here in Hawaii and nowhere else in the world! The tidepool tours are offered Thursday mornings (Visit Hale Nalu for tour times.)
