The Hualālai Golf Course is the first Nicklaus design on Hawai‘i and is home to the prestigious PGA Champions Tour "Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualālai" event.
The 2012
Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualālai, a PGA TOUR Champions Tour tournament competition among all official money-event champions of the 2010 and 2011 seasons, winners of the majors since 2007 and eight professionals by invitation with 15 or more career victories, including one major, was held January 18-22, 2012 at the Hualālai Resort. Dan Forsman was proclaimed the 2012 Champion on Sunday, January 22 with a 3-under 69 for his third Champions Tour title. The golf competition held on the Hualālai Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, hosted thousands of guests and residents to view this event.
